Rex Tibbens, formerly vice president of Amazon's North American logistics division, has joined Lyft as the organization's new COO. In addition, Peter Morelli, Lyft's VP of Engineering and a former CEO of Twitter, joined the executive team as well as Brian Roberts, CFO, and Kara Wampler, CMO. According to CEO Zimmer, Lyft's service is similar to "a friend with a car that comes up based on your requirements." Lyft's focus on a friendship culture sets it unique from other competitors. The service promotes people sitting next to the driver in the front row. Additionally, before getting inside the vehicle, passengers must bump fists with the driver. Additionally, passengers may frequently charge their Apple phones or select the music they wish to listen to while driving.
