YouTube Music is a music streaming application developed by YouTube, a subsidiary of Google. It provides a customized interface for music streaming-oriented services, allowing users to browse music videos on YouTube based on preferences, playlists and recommendations. The service also offers a premium subscription service that allows for paid ad-free playback, pure music playback in the background and downloading songs for offline playback. The new service will include a redesigned mobile app as well as a new music player for computers. On May 22, 2018, Google-owned YouTube will launch YouTube Music, a music streaming service. In August 2020, Google shared a detailed timeline for the closure of Google Play Music. Users in New Zealand and South Africa will have their access removed in September, and users in other regions will stop accessing it in October. By December, the service will shut down completely, after which users will not be able to transfer content.

The YouTube Music top bar is divided into three sections: "Home," "Hot" and "Liked Song." YouTube Music supports offline music, switching between audio and video, and a recommendation mechanism based on the user's "likes" of the video/audio. All "liked" videos/audio will appear in the "Liked Song" on the far right of the top bar.

In terms of content, YouTube Music and YouTube are connected, and the view and like counts are the same. YouTube Music has over 10 monthly users, the supported system platforms are Web, Android, iOS, Google Home, Sonos, Android TV, Android Auto.

At the same time, YouTube has previously signed exclusive music rights with a number of artists, and users of the client will be able to enjoy these exclusive songs. Free users will not be able to enjoy features such as ad-free, offline enjoyment, and audio-only playback. Similar to Apple Music, YouTube also offers a 14-day free trial of its paid service.
